We established an on-farm feedlot in 2013 where weaners from our own commercial Bonsmara herd and locally sourced weaners are moved to green pastures to mature.
At the correct time in development, the animals are moved into pens according to weight, size, age and gender.
Rations are specifically formulated by an agricultural nutritionist for each group.
Our animals are fed all-natural products produced mostly on the farm; such as silage, maize remnants, wheat hay and lucerne.
Our animals are closely monitored by the local veterinarian in consultation on disease prevention and treatment of unhealthy animals.
Our beef babies are kept in the feedlot for 90 to 120 days.
Our mission is to produce young, lean and tender A-grade beef to Eastern Cape abattoirs.
