Our new venture: a 24/7/365 days a year business

After extensive contemplating and research which included a trip to New Zealand and visits to various dairies, we are in the process of constructing our first dairy palour. The Waikato 66 rotary point milking palour would be completed by the end of July and we would be in milk from the 1st of August 2018. We will start of by milking 700 cows and gradually expanding to 1400 cows.

250 hectares would be utilized for high quality grass for the pasture-based cows. We would use own produced grains and roughage for the additional feed requirements.

Would be using Afimilk Herd Management system to collect information about the performance of each individual animal and build up our own database.

We would also have an on-farm breeding programme and calf rearing facilities.
